Apple Bread
APPLE BREAD
Makes 1 loaf
Pre Heat Oven to 350°
2 cups Flour
1 tsp. Baking soda
½ tsp. Baking powder
½ tsp. Salt
½ cup shorting (Crisco)
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 cup Sugar
2 eggs
2 cups Chopped Apples (3 medium apples)
½ cup chopped nuts (If desired…I never use them)
Sift first 4 ingredients together. Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs, and beat well. Add apples, nuts and vanilla. Stir in flour mixture. Pour batter into greased bread pan and sprinkle with *topping if desired. Turn pan on side to cool after removing from oven.
Bake for 1 hour.
*Topping: ¼ cup sugar and 1 ½ tsp. Cinnamon.
