Stupid Questions Go Here

Ok, stupid question time.

I know what a BOT is. But what is the Google Bot for? Is this just something that snerts the forum and puts google spider links out there? Or is this a real Bot for us to abuse and terrorize?

I'll look into the Google bot, not sure how or why it's here.
I did notice ads have appeared, I am not paying for this forum and the ads are how they make up for it....I think.

Yes the ads pay for it. I use Google Adwords for my jewelry site and it puts my store ad on random sites. Not sure I will see it here since I haven't replenished it in a few months LOL, it didn't seem to be getting me any traffic.
