Ohio State Buckeyes, Penn State Nittany Lions the football favorites in the Big Ten Conference

Chicago- Ohio State and Penn State again. Over the past four seasons, the Buckeyes have won four straight conference titles, with the Nittany Lions twice grabbing a share of the Big Ten championship. Monday at the Big Ten meetings, the media picked Ohio State as the preseason Big Ten favorite, with Penn State to finish second. Again.

Is there another team out there getting within range of a conference title?

"When you look at the [scores] last year, [we're] not very close," said Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio, whose Spartans went 6-2 in the conference last year, losing only to the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions, by a combined score of 94-25. Michigan State was picked third this season. "One of the biggest goals is we need to play up, play to the best of our ability and overachieve when we play those people."
